Norridge Map and data Portal
In 2007 the Village joined the GIS Consortium, an organization of Chicago-area communities unified by a common goal: to share resources, information, staffing, and technology so that municipalities can optimize the value of geographic information systems (GIS).

How GIS Helps the Village and You

GIS is a key component of various Village operations because of its ability to visualize data and connect multiple data sources.

Do you ever wonder how your local government manages important information, like sewer and water systems, road improvements, and emergency services? Well, the Village of Norridge has implemented a system called Geographic Information Systems (GIS) that links all this information to a specific location on a map. This allows them to track visualize things like crime, utilities, and legal boundaries with more accuracy and efficiency.

But here's the really interesting part: the Village of Norridge has teamed up with other communities in the area as members of the GIS Consortium. By joining forces, they're able to share the costs of staffing and expertise, which means they can provide better services to residents while keeping costs down.

So next time you see a map on your local government's website, remember that it's not just a picture - it's a powerful tool that's helping to keep our communities safe and running smoothly.
